pluto: a rock opera

in concert!

Pluto: A Rock Opera is the story of a distant, standoffish space rock learning to be loved. Pluto doesn’t like the idea of being stalked by telescopes, but as they recount more than a hundred years of human effort to discover a new world and send a spacecraft over three billion miles to study it, Pluto may just change their mind about humanity. Whether or not you think Pluto should be a planet, you’ll be astounded by the incredible humans who devoted their lives to finding, naming and knowing Pluto. At this concert presentation, you’ll be the first to hear material from this otherworldly new rock opera, with a libretto by Briana Harris and music by Gavin Knittle. Presented by Carter and Harris, who have been producing Verse Intro Cabaret at SoHo Playhouse since 2023.

Run time: 75 minutes
