bipolar badass

Bipolar Badass brings honesty and humor to what it's like to live with bipolar disorder--and its many public and media misconceptions. Mari captures the trial and error of diagnosis, the impact of mental illness on loved ones, and the importance of self-acceptance. A must see!”
- Matt Kudish, CEO, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) NYC

Bipolar Badass is a one-woman show by Mari (like calamari) Crawford about her experience getting diagnosed with Bipolar disorder at 19. Through the story of struggling to accept her diagnosis and discovering the unhelpful and ignorant yet humorous societal perceptions of the disorder, Mari tries to create a way she can live with her new identity.

"Mari Crawford's Bipolar Badass is more than a one-woman show; it's a raw, unfiltered exploration of the complexities of bipolar disorder and mental health. In this performance Crawford fearlessly bares her soul, inviting the audience into her world through a series of vignettes across her life, peppered with moments of comedy and tenderness, told with vulnerability and courage."
- Invited NYC

- Neurodiverse Review, Edinburgh Fringe Festival
